Music is a major part of my life. I enjoy listening to almost every type of music that exists. If I am having a bad day, all I need to do is turn on music and it brightens my day, almost immediately. I mostly listen to country, because it relates to my life the most. As a little girl, Garth Brooks was my idol, I believe I still have my cassette tapes of him. To this day I still enjoy a little Garth Brooks and now I understand the lyrics and the meaning behind his music. My grandpa loved a little Garth Brooks, his favorite was River Runs Dry, which now when I hear that song always makes me think of Grandpa, makes me smile usually, although sometimes it makes me cry because my grandpa has passed. Hearing that song brings up very fond childhood memories with grandpa, makes me miss him. It's amazing how one certain song can bring so many memories flooding back into your mind just by hearing it. Some songs really hit home when you hear them. One song that really tugs on my heart strings is Amazing Grace, this song was played by my cousin, who has also passed at the age of 17, on the bag pipes at my grandpa's funeral. Amazing Grace is a beautiful song, but for me it reminds me of funerals and sadness. On a happier note there are millions of songs that make me happy. Dirt Road Anthem by Jason Aldean is a happy song for me, reminds me of my childhood because I grew up on a dirt road and of course there's nothing better then a ride down a dirt road, windows down, wind blowing through your hair, what a great way to relax!
My favorite thing to do is, jump in my car, windows down, radio cranked, and just rock out. I'm the girl you see alone in the car singing as loud as I can and I even break it down sometimes, of course only at stop lights. I'm sad to say I haven't been to too many concerts. This summer I managed to go to a Montgomery Gentry concert, which was awesome! Above a great close up of Montgomery Gentry from the concert:) Attending more concerts is definitely on my bucket list, there are so many artists I want to see, the list is endless. I've been to more concerts as a kid then I have as an adult, went to Faith Hill and N'SYNC, which makes laugh now....N'SYNC REALLY? That makes three concerts so far in my life, man I better get busy and get some concert tickets.
